Introduction

In modern industrial society, the industrial relations emerge as one of the complex and delicate problem. Industrial progress is not possible without harmonious relationships and corporation of labours. Hence, it is in the interest of all to maintain and create good and prosperous relations between employers (management) and employees (labour).

Industrial relations term is comprised of two words namely, industry and relations. The term industry can be defined as any productive activity where a group of individual is fit into place. Relations refer to the relationship inside the industry between employees and employer.

Industrial relationship refers to the relationship between employers and employee within the settings of organization. The industrial relations field comes across the relationship between workers and management, in particular workers groups that are embodied by a union. It basically refers to the communication between the government, employees, employers, and the associations and institutions by means which such relations are interceded (Keller, 2005, pp. 239-277).

Industrial Relations Objectives

The industrial relations have five main objectives, which are:

To protect the interest and management and labour by means of securing the highest level of mutual goodwill and understanding among all sectors of the industry that take part in the production process. To keep away from industrial strife or conflict, as well as to develop pleasant relations that are vital factor in the industrial progress of a country or productivity of workers.

In the era of full employment, industrial relations are to increase productivity to higher level by decreasing the frequency absenteeism and tendency to high turnover. By promoting and establishing the industrial democracy growth depend upon the partnership of labour in the profits sharing and decision making at managerial level; thus, individual growth will not overlap for the benefit of country, as well as of the industry. Moreover, industrial relations also refers to the industries' socialization, as a result, make the state a major employer (Lee & Lee, 2005, pp. 279-299).

Other objective of industrial relations is to avoid industrial conflict that focus on differences in objectives and values, and relationships in terms of distribution, power and status. Based on the observers' position and theoretical point of view, industrial conflicts are recognized either as providing a movement for social progress and change, or troublesome to the proper society's functioning. These conflicts present at every industrial relations' level, with local conflicts yet within the detach actors' groups. Similar to any conflict, they are influenced by emotional anxieties between two players concerned and through a variety of external pressures.

Industrial relations are to minimize or eliminate number of lockouts and strikes, while improving working and living conditions and offering reasonable wages. In the same way, strive to enhance the workers' economic conditions in the current state of political government and industrial management.
