Project Management

Introduction

The project of organizing a company offsite 2-day training session which includes everything from preparation, accommodations, and facilities for the trainees.

Project management can be defined as a planned effort to accomplish a certain project. It includes planning, organizing and managing resources which leads to success in achieving the project. Project management includes the planning a project, identifying tasks and goals which are to be achieved. A well executed project leads to the success of the business. Project management is associated with 5 types of processes which include: initiation, planning, executing, controlling and closing. A successful project can be evaluated on the basis of these steps. Professionally, project management should be carried on the basis of different projects and the goals which are set up in order to achieve it(Haugan, 2009).

Project management today can no longer be limited to operational aspects, especially with regard to the projects. It is now to prepare well in advance to be sure to choose / make "good projects" - a prerequisite for success. The project here is the process or time-restricted activity, which has a history of beginning and end, is done once in order to provide a product or service in order to bring about beneficial change or create value-added products .

And there is a conflict between a property that an interim order for the project once, and what characterizes administrative or operational processes that are permanently or semi-permanently in order to provide the same product or service over and over again. And does not require necessarily the same project management requirements required by the management of administrative processes and operational permanent, both in terms of technical skills required or business philosophy, and then the need has arisen to develop project management.

Setting up a Project

To set up a project is the most important task that is performed by the managers within the organization. Setting up a project is the initial stage and needs great concentration of the managers to start a project. Different steps are involved in setting up a project and all the step needs to be completed in a perfect manner so that the goals of the project can be achieved in a significant manner(Cleland, 2009). For setting up a project, a manager needs to be very effective and consider all the values and objectives of the organization. The ethical considerations are also needs to be adopted while setting up a project.

To advertise and recruit required professionals.

To analyze and document the specifications for the required functionality.

To acquire the needed hardware and software as part of IT infrastructure facilities.

To design, implement, test and operate the entire system.
