This paper intends to explore the concept of Incident Command System. Further, an incident of Katrina Hurricane is discussed and it examines if incident command system was employed or not.
Incident Command System is extremely useful for incident management, but it also guides the process for planning, building, and adapting that structure. ICS make the plan for every incident or event. Incident command System has clarity of its policies and procedures, the efficiency of its workflow processes, and the quality of its record retention schedule.ICS is very productive and useful tool for prevention of natural hazards and preplan for protect by natural disaster.

History Katrina began as a slow-moving easterly wave of low pressure in the trade wind belt near the west coast of Africa.
