Introduction

This paper intends to discuss my experience and a short story of 'In the Shadow of War' written by Ben Okri. Ben Okri is a Nigeria based poet and novelist. Okri is assumed to be one of the most famous African authors in relation with the post modern and post colonial traditions. The work of Ben Okri has been compared with the work of authors like Salman Rushdie and Gabriel Garcia. The purpose of this paper is to compare my experience with Ben Okri's short story 'In the Shadow of War.'
