CHAPTER 01: INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study
The issue of diversity in the military is a complicated subject, both in terms of the managerial and practical implications as well as conceptually. This represents some of the most difficult challenges for the military leaders and these challenges are faced by them since two to three years. One of the major issues that arise and is considered to be the most problematic is of gender discrimination in the army (Morden, 1990, p. 65).
Women are an integral part of the military since it came in to being. It is often seen that women attempt to put in efforts beyond their traditional feminine roles that are assigned to them by the military. A few of the female's infantrees disguise themselves as men and have participated in combats, operations and operations and sometimes they have participated with the approvals of their male counterparts (Treadwell, 2006, p. 85).
Aim and Objectives
This research will study that whether in the modern military operations is the army being prejudicial by not having female infantry. In the light of this aim, this research study will answer the below mentioned objectives.
To highlight the concept of discrimination in the army.
To evaluate the reasons due to which army is being prejudicial by not having female infantry
Significance of the Study
This research study will be of importance to the military leaders as it will highlight the issues due to which the female infanteers are discriminated. This will help to highlight the importance of the female infanteers in military. This research study will furthermore add to the academic literature.
CHAPTER 02: LITERATURE REVIEW
`This chapter provides the relevant literature that has been published on the discrimination of female infantry in the army. This chapter discusses the updated literature on the topic.
There are several factors that play an important role in the traditional concept of discrimination of female infantrees in the army (McMichael, 2007, p. 125). The soldier all around the world are mostly male and; therefore, military is a male dominant profession and this profession is breeding in an excessive male dominant society. It has been observed through the prior researches that women must learn different ways to communicate with their male counterparts in order have an effective communication. The military profession demands that the people who are inducted in the army are vigilant, unerring and aggressive in their propensity to offer the deadly forces against the enemies (Morden, 1990, p. 65).
The traditional qualities of women are considered to be weak and are coincided with the defeat on the grounds of battle. The military society is isolated from the society; and therefore, reduces scrutiny from the areas that are outside the order of military (Stiehm, 1989, p. 29).
