IMPORTANT CHANGE TO ACADEMIC REGULATIONS IN 2010/11

Introduction

Over the summer there have been some important alterations to the Academic Regulations that rule your investigations with us. We have summarised the most significant points for you in this leaflet along with a short interpretation as to why we have required making these changes.

All scholars on primary application to the University are In Good Standing. The learned standing of a scholar may change to On Academic Probation or Failed as the outcome of learned presentation evaluations, as recounted in each program's learned regulations.

The reason of On Academic Probation standing is to lift perception with the scholar that he or she is at risk academically in order that the scholar can take corrective activity that will advance the prospect of his or her eventual success. On Academic Probation is documented in the Student Information System but not on authorized Transcripts of Academic Record. Students will be notified of being put On Academic Probation as rapidly as likely after the end of each term.

Placements of scholars On Academic Probation standing are assessed at the end of each learned period (December, April, and August). It is significant to note that a scholar may be granted a Failed standing exactly, and that On Academic Probation is not essential for a failed standing to outcome from unsatisfactory learned performance.

A scholar On Academic Probation may have limits put on his or her registration as recounted in each faculty's part on learned guidelines (see "Faculties, Schools, and Colleges"). A scholar who had been needed to cease investigations, and subsequent effectively asked for readmission, will be put On Academic Probation.
