Importance of Nursing Education

Introduction

Nursing Education plays an important role in the effectiveness of Health Care services. It increases the efficiency of Nurses and enables them to be more aware of problems. In recent times, the profession has become very challenging, and it demands a lot from Nurse. They have to serve people, who are suffering from diseases and problems. It is necessary for Nurses to understand the needs of the patients and then provide the necessary treatment. For the purpose, it is very important for Nurses to ge proper education related to the field of Nursing and at least attain a baccalaureate degree to become efficient in the field. In this paper, we will review the importance of baccalaureate degree and its affect on Patients.

Literature Review

The United States Committee on Health Education defines health as "a process of an intelligent, psychological and social learning, which includes activities designed to increase the ability of individuals to make decisions (knowingly) that affect their personal, family and social life. "

Various Researchers have stressed the importance of baccalaureate degree for Nurses and their impact on Patients. Nurses have to deal with several challenges these days. In order to achieve their objectives, they must be well informed and trained. Normally the information given on this topic is related to health, often through campaigns in the form of specific topics. This practice is valid for a little time and can act as a starting point for a more steady activity (Aiken, 2003). However, that usually does not occur, so proper education about nursing practices is very important. It is therefore, more appropriate to get a degree, and proper training to achieve the described objective.

Getting a degree in Nursing entails an ongoing learning process, which enables an individual to become a better Nurse, who is aware of patient problems and worries. This process, inspired by scientific principles, facilitates learning and behavioral change among not only Nurses, but also among patients and their parents.

Health Education acts as a mean to increase awareness of individuals and instill some principles of action to modify practices of Nursing and how they treat patients. Nursing Education increases awareness among Nurses that ensure that they opt for a more Patient Centered Approach. It gives them the understanding of how to treat each patient individually and treat according to his or her requirements (Garver Mastrian, 2011).

The Health Education cannot be conceptualized as merely a medical or health information held by doctors or health matters, but it also deals with the comprehensive understanding of human nature (Joanne Emerson, 2007).

The Health Education involves appropriate information input on the subject in question. It may not necessarily be provided by health professionals, but it may be performed by Health Professionals or physiologist. The essential phases comprising of the modern concept of health education are:
