Introduction

This research focuses on the various aspects of health care in United States of America and the implementation of public health's core functions in health departments. . Although separate, the various public health activities have a long history. The organization of the health departments of governmental jurisdictions (cities, districts, nations) really began in the nineteenth century, and originally focused on sanitation. Initially, attention was mainly drinking water supply, clean and safe disposal of human waste and other types, particularly in urban. Then be undertaken initiatives to control communicable diseases by other means, such as tuberculosis. As has been advanced knowledge of the determinants of health and the causes of, efforts have been expanded public health; interest in healthy child development has resulted in maternal and child nutrition programs and child safety. The safety and health programs occupational introduced a wide range of workplaces.

Hypothesis

The three core functions, assessment, assurance and policy development, were considerably and positively associated to improvements in health population status from 1990 to 2000 among US communities. As many agencies were disengaging from policy development, organizations may have discovered that either assessment and/or assurance were adequate for successful improvement of population health statuses.

If anyone wants that programs are well supported and adapted to the needs real, it is essential to go beyond a general statement about the importance of health population and develop more specific lists on the functions or services. The term "Essential public health functions was introduced in the specialized vocabulary through the project that resulted in a report on the future of public health developed by the Institute of Medicine of the United States. Public health's core functions are defined as policy development, assesment and assurans.
