CHAPTER 01: INTRODUCTION
Background of the Research
In the world that we live in today, companies and organizations are now involved in the oil and gas sector, not only has it become evident that international organizations and regulatory bodies are constantly involved in providing maximum benefit to masses - both industries and the normal public - that are connected and associated with the oil and gas sector.
Oil and gas fall in the energy sector, one out of the top four (4) industries that account for revenues and profit margins of more than $1 trillion. Hence, with such major profit returns and margins associated with this industry, multiple tiers and categories of risks are involved in the midst of securing the rights and the investment of people that are willing and have the purchasing power to pursue these goals.
For this research study, our focus and concentration is around the kind of standards and the benchmarks that have been invested in line with labour. The International Labour Organization (ILO) has been taken up for analysis, in line with how the oil and sector functions and that how is the risks related to labourers and the people involved in the oil and gas sector not only continue its impact, but also make way for influencing the happenings and the outcomes that are being intended altogether in the long-run.
Furthermore, the country that has been taken for analysis is the state of Iraq. The country is rich in the reserves of oil and gas and holds the reputation of having one of the top ten oil companies in terms of production and the capacity that it has earned over the passage of time.
Also, Iraq, alongside Iran and Cameroon have made way for being countries that have been highlighted for their labour practices and the kind of reputation each holds as per the oil and gas and energy sector.
Problem Statement
The problem statement that has been undertaken for developing the study is 'how do benchmarks related to International Labor Organization (ILO) influence the risk evaluation of domestic and onshore oil and gas major operations in Iraq?'
Research Aim
The purpose of the research is broad, yet constructive. On one-end, we are assessing the changes and the challenges that are associated with the implementation of benchmarks set by the International Labour Organization, which would be assessed in detail and making way for progress.
The other objective that would serve as a purpose would be to analyze the oil and gas sector that is established in the Iraq and that which not only would make way for progress of the study, but would also make way ...
