Introduction

Healthcare is one of the significant elements of life of a person. Illness or diseases really can mean a downturn in a person's life as health is the biggest asses we have in life. In general, healthcare is defined as the treatment or management of any health issue through services that might be offered by dental, nursing, medical, or any other related service. When we talk about health care we talk about health care all products and service produced to improve our health pops up in our mind (Esmail, 2005). Healthcare system of a country is an organized system to provide health services to group people or population. Healthcare can be provided to an individual, group of people, country's citizen or immigrant however it all depends on the how that system of that country has been organized. Healthcare of a country cannot be overemphasized. In developed countries like US and Canada health care system is designed to cater all people whether it to be rich, poor, citizen of that country or an immigrant. Government has the responsibility to formulate or create policies that favors people in this regard. In this research, we shall be focusing on healthcare system of Canada with specific focus on immigrants.

Thesis Statement

For long, the health care system of Canada has been source of national pride as it provides access to health care to immigrants along with its citizens. However immigrants (legal and illegal) do not get equal treatment as compared to in born Canadians.

Canada has a health care system predominantly financed with funds public and private provision can described as an interlocking set of ten health insurance plans and three provincial territorial plans. Known for Canadians as "insurance" (Medicare), the system provides universal access to care and Full hospital services medically necessary, and medical consultations to patients inpatients and outpatients. This structure results from the jurisdiction granted constitution provincial governments most aspects of health care.

For immigrants healthcare has always been an issue thus the purpose of this research is to evaluate healthcare system of Canada with specific focus on healthcare services provided to immigrants and citizens of Canada. I shall be discussing on the equal services offering between Canadian citizens and immigrants, whether immigrants have the right to access Canadian health care or not and in the end I shall discuss whether immigrants are healthier than born Canadian citizens or not. The purpose of writing this paper is to let readers know about the importance of health care in Canada and the distribution of healthcare between Canadian Citizens and immigrants. This paper will let readers know about the flaws in healthcare system of Canada along with any injustice/fairness with immigrants of Canada.
