Illegal Immigration in United States

Introduction

It has been researched that illegal immigration is one of the well-known issues in United States of America and, it has become the part of the culture of America. There has been the cultural war due to illegal immigration from decades and, there are no such policies to stop illegal immigration. From years, Mexicans and Latinos are immigrating from their hometown to America and, they are in huge number. Several people from Asia and other underdeveloped countries are coming to America illegally and, becoming the part of America without citizenship. According to the Reform and Control Act of 1986, there were 11 to 12 million people who are illegal immigrants in America. America does not know how to deal with the issue in a proper way. These illegal immigrants are termed as illegal aliens and, this immigration is also termed as criminality. There is another term used for the illegal immigration as “Undocumented worker”. In a simple way, illegal immigrant is a non citizen who resides in a country without holding a valid visa. This immigration occurs due to several reasons such as; either the visa has expired or it is also possible that individual enters the country without holding any visa. On extending the definition of illegal immigrants, it is also possible that any individual born in United States whose mother is undocumented at that time.

Illegal immigration is the largest issue for America today and, America is finding different ways to overcome this issue.

Background

Mexicans are the largest group of illegal immigrants in United States and after them, there are individuals from El Salvador and Guatemala. Going back to history, in 1942, the program of Federal Bracero invited several Mexicans workers to enter United States to work on agriculture. At that time, there were contractual issues ad Mexicans remained in United States. In 1944 and 1954, there was a gradual increase in the population of Mexicans and, there were large number of Mexicans in United States. Government of America also launched the operation Wetback in response to illegal immigration in 1954 and, tried to stop the illegal immigration at border. In 1968, Michelle Dallaroce had founded the Mothers against the illegal immigrants in order to stop the Hispanics to come into West.
