Introduction

This chapter is an extremely important one, since it summarizes the findings obtained while conducting this research study. If the researcher fails to approach this chapter with the right frame of mind, it can cause the whole effort to go to waste. As the world has evolved over the period of decades and has shrunk into a global village, it has injected human beings with some remarkable achievements. However, there are some dark sides attached to it as well. Human Trafficking is certainly rendered as one of the notions which even in this civilized world, tends to act as a curse for the entire humanity. However, unfortunately it tends to grow and strengthen itself as it is considered a multibillion dollar industry. The countries which are less developed tend to be more prone to such activities than developed countries (Blackburn, Taylor & Davis 2010, p. 21).

This research focused on the case studies of human trafficking taking place in Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia. These three countries were selected mainly due to the reason that these locations have the highest human trafficking rates and secondly they have been struggling for many years to cope with the issues taking place. Keeping this notion in mind the fact can be rendered that human trafficking problems tends to be richer in the countries which are otherwise poor or economically less developed. Hence, those who are trafficked to be treated as slaves or to be used as prostitutes are those who tend to be socially vulnerable, or due to various circumstances can be easily exploited. Moreover, it was revealed that not all individuals who are smuggled from one country to the other are forced or are kept unaware of the whole scenario. Some of those who are smuggled tend to do so upon their own will, the goal of this study was to determine the reason that led these people to accept the atrocities inflicted upon them.

Scope of the Topic

This section of the paper tends to discuss the significance of conducting a research onto the identified topic as human trafficking tends to be one of the leading problems as far as cross border criminal activities are concerned. In other words it can be stated that human trafficking in the identified countries and in different regions of the world tends to be a great source of earning even though it comes with a number of serious consequences. In the yester years the purpose of human trafficking was mostly for the purpose of slavery only presently human trafficking today is now mainly composed of women, children and men being smuggled for sexual exploitation.

Moving forward, in the context of the research the fact needs to be kept in mind that human trafficking is not possible if the officials or the authorities of the respective countries are not involved in the whole picture.
