Purpose of Course
Human resources plays a key role in modern organisations and businesses, be they private sector, public sector or voluntary. This course covers diverse topics in human resources, from the role of the human resources manager to how to recruit, select, train and assess employees, to employee motivation, employee-employer relations, and how to manage change within an organisation. This course will give learners a thorough knowledge and understanding of the role human resources plays in organisations, and will be of great interest to business professionals working in the area of human resources, or to learners who are pursuing a career in this area.
Description of Course
This course examines the role of the human resource professional as a strategic partner in managing today's organizations. Key functions such as recruitment, selection, development, appraisal, retention, compensation, and labor relations are examined. Implications of legal and global environments are appraised and current issues such as diversity training, sexual harassment policies, and rising benefit costs are analyzed. Best practices of employers of choice are considered.
Traditional instructional training techniques
The traditional techniques of trainings are useful for the employees and employers of the organization to get the best outcome from their resource. There are four methods of traditional training techniques.
On-the-job training (OJT), it refers to inexperienced or new employee learning by managers or other trainers to imitate their behavior, and let them acquainted with the organizational work and norms.
Lecture, it involves the communication of trainer to the trainees for their learning process.
Programmed, it involves proper programming or different trainings for the improvement of organizational skills and motivational skills.
Team work, is designed to enhance or improve the performance of the people working in a team, by sharing different ideas and experiences.
Experiential training techniques
The experimental training is the method that is projected to enhance the physical abilities and behavioral skills. This training method is also known as the 'learning by doing'. It involves a two way interface, which is not like the methods of informational training that are only one sided. It chiefly focuses to deal with the facts and figures of the development. It includes the methods of Simulations, Case studies, Games, Behavior modeling and role playing.
Simulations are the method in which real life situations are created to facilitate the employee to prepare and experience for the world's work.
Case studies analysis is probably the most regularly used tool for developing analytical, decision making, and interpersonal skills within the trainees.
Games are the methods to potent the efficiency of employees and make them learn by the toughness of sport.
Behavior modeling is the technique to boost the employees and their inner values for work.
Role playing is used basically to alter attitudes and assist people things from the eyes of other persons.
