Introduction

The human resource management consists of those activities designed to address and coordinate the people needed for an organization. The human resource management seeks to build and maintain an environment of excellence in quality to enable better workforce in achieving the objectives of quality and operational performance of the company. Human resource managers could continue running the traditional functions of personnel managers, but the scope and importance of their area of responsibility has been significantly altered. Affirmative action does not dealing with preference. Nor does it mean that people who do not meet the requirements should be hired or promoted over other people (Zügner, 2009). For my organization, affirmative action is the tool; EEO is the goal. Affirmative action includes measures taken to prevent unlawful employment discrimination and remedy the effects of past discrimination. In my organization these measures include, but are not limited to, efforts to recruit, hire, employ, train and promote from non-Caucasian, women and individuals with a disability or handicap.
