In order to get awareness on strategic issues in Human resource management an interview was conducted with an HR manager of a company where I previously worked. The organization was a globally recognized bank, which has its network scattered in various countries. The agenda of the interview was to ask about a strategic issue in HR. Upon the interview, details that were gathered are being delivered in the form of a report.
The Issue
The major issue that the HR manager highlighted was that of managing a diverse workforce and maintaining a training and development implementation plan throughout the organization. Enterprises are facing several challenges in various operations of their HR, which include the recruitment, training and retention. Globalization has enhanced the need for talented workforce everywhere. In the upcoming retirement of the baby boomers, the Western labor supply is shrinking. Employees more than ever, need more of their work and the rest of the life-long current trends in the balance between the Western worlds, but now common in Eastern Europe, South America and India.
The company has been working to measure and monitor their programs and activities designed to improve the performance and level of commitment. Trying to get a better understanding on how companies manage their people, the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), surveyed more than 4,700 management personnel in 83 countries and markets, and published a report on the basis of the results, "the establishment of advantages in human resources HR, how to meet the challenges of the world in 2015.
However, the issues are far more than companies could have considered due to globalization.
