Human Resource Development

Introduction

Learning theory deals with a method of psychology that explains human feedback through the concept of learning. Learning theory consist of cognitive theory, behaviorism, constructivism and behavior cognitive theory. This theory is a measure of all these four elements. There are many learning frameworks that describe how your transform information into a related set of data and how you process and retain this information while working in your office. Learning theories bring emotional, environmental and cognitive influences and experience related to acquiring or altering change in one's perception, skills and values. Below are the three most important theories related to learning behavior. Now in my discussion phase I will be comparing these theories among themselves to better understand their basic idea and identifying their implications on human resource development. Discussion

Comparison and contrast of learning theories

According to Zimmerman “ self efficacy beliefs provide students with a complete set of understanding of how to understand self regulatory processes, for example, setting their own goals, monitoring their own tasks and developing their own strategies for better achieving their tasks. This theory focuses on capabilities of students, the more the capable the student is the more he or she will be judging themselves by assigning various challenging tasks. According to his theory efficacious students were better in monitoring their tasks and assignment and less likely to reject hypotheses and better perform in critical tasks assigned to them. They also better perform in solving conceptual problems as compare to inefficacious students of equal talent and ability. It is also noticed that the greater the motivation of learning self-efficacious, the higher the students perform with relate to academic achievement. According to Multon, Brown and lent, self efficacy amounts to approximately 14% of variance increase in students overall performance.

According to Engestrom “Any theory must answer altheas four fundamental questions: 1) who are the ones who are subject to learning, their location and their role; 2) what is their purpose of learning and what are the initiatives they acquire after learning?; 3) what is their outline of learning program?; 4) what are the tools used by them for training? (Engestrom.Y, 2001). Activity of cultural history has evolved around 3 generations of research. The emerging third generation describe activity theory into two interacting system, forcing individual efforts to focus on the challenges and learning possibilities of inter organization culture and learning. Activity theory and its basics concept of expansion learning can be addressed through the above mentioned questions. There are three generations of activity theory, first generation centered on Vygotsky which created an idea of mediation and proposed an idea of famous triangular model which shows a direct connection between stimulus and response. Second generation was totally focused on the individual, which focuses on individual action and a collaborative activity. However, leont of second generation never expanded graphically the original model into a model of collective activity system mechanism. The emerging and current activities of third generation theory ...
