According to the study of BLS i.e. Bureau of Labor statistics, it has been observed that safety and health violence is growing in the workplaces of health and social care. It found that in the year 2000, almost 48 % of all of the non-fatal wounds from occupational violent acts and assaults occurred in the services of health and social care. Most of these violent acts are occurring in nursing, residential care services, personal care facilities and hospitals. Attendants, aides, nurses and orderlies are suffering from the most non assaults which are resulting in harms. Workers of health and social care are facing an increased challenge of assaults related to their work due to several factors. One of the significant factors is the growing usage of hospitals by criminal justice system, and police for criminal holds and also for providing care to intensely violent and disturbed individuals. However, the prevalence of weapons like handguns among patients or their friends or families also appears as the primary reason.
