Introduction

The nurses are the first line responders that are responsible for delivering adequate care to patients. The nursing profession requires an appropriate philosophy that would define the basic framework of care and support. This paper has described in detail the process of fostering health in the patients by nurses. I have chosen this topic by keeping the basic aim of the nursing profession in focus that is, the delivery of health care services to all the individuals. The paper has taken the UNB philosophy as a guideline in understanding the nursing care process.

The incorporation of UNB philosophy of nursing has played the role of a guideline to explain the major role of nursing professionals in delivering adequate care and in fostering health for all the clients equally.

Discussion

With the rapid advancement in the health care system, there has been advancement in the health care professionals and their duties. Today, the nursing professionals holds greater responsibility of delivering the most appropriate care, and must be capable of using the advanced technology in practice. I truly believe that nurses are not only playing their part in the clinical settings, but also in the educational institutions, nursing homes and most importantly, in research. However, the main goal of the nursing care is still the providence of the best health care support and care services to patients. The nurses foster this care to the patients through a process that is based on a philosophy of nursing. In order to understand the care process, it is important to understand the philosophy of nursing first.

Philosophy of Nursing

The nursing philosophy refers to the basic thought regarding the beliefs of the nursing practice and the nature of the profession in terms of patient care and protection. The philosophy incorporates the ethical values and code of conduct of the nursing practice and develops a central idea of working. in this document, the philosophy chosen to evaluate the nursing practice is the UNB philosophy of nursing.

In my point of view, this requires the training and education process that would develop the most skilled professionals. These professionals will deliver the care by utilizing their capabilities and learnings. My philosophy resembles the philosophy of UNB as the basic goal is to provide the patients with finest care and development of such professionals who are capable of providing the best care services.
