CHAPTER 2: LITERATURE REVIEW
Storytelling and drama features, combined with the natural number of them in class. Both parties rely on the imagination of children and innate capacity for imagination play, and even very young children can distinguish between a story or drama and real life practice. (Winston and Tandy 2009, 4) Through stories and drama, children understand the world around them. (Way 2008, p.24)
Storytelling and theater is the most important thing to share, as it helps children to participate in classroom activities, develop children's interest and attention, inculcate imagination and develops their language skills. (Lesley and Lucy 2001, 3) They also add to children's intelligence and learning, and provide a culture of social skills and attitudes, such as active listening and cooperation, and a positive change and respect for others. (Kase 2005, 15)
These actions will help the child care association, that work for strengthening children's memory, and helping them learn words and meaning. When children become familiar with the activities of storytelling and theater, it provides a wider range of recycling through the language it repeat or represents it, as they are depicted through the children or puppets for children. (Francis and Nigel 2007, 7). These activities are designed to support the use of dramatic focus and hence they help build confidence and self esteem. In the more complex level, theater techniques, such as hot seat and role playing provide opportunities for children to explore beyond the stories and themes, assisting them in understanding problems and the moral dilemma. (Denis 2006, 10) This will not only provide opportunities for children to use language that go beyond the script , but also to encourage them to develop critical and creative thinking and spirit of collaboration with other. (Christine 2003, 10)
In addition to classroom drama it may be appropriate for children to use the moral themes exclusively as a basis for a game, and better enjoy these stories. Production of a drama for a class of parents and other visitors to classrooms done for theatrical activities and then it help in a personalized learning.
