The Christiana Hospital is a modern centre comprising within 1.3 million square feet. It has full capacity of 913 beds with the provision of care level of large-scale university hospitals. At the Level I of Delaware, the Christiana Hospital has only trauma center which is verified by the American College of Surgeons. The aim of the trauma center is to handle the extreme medical emergency cases. Actually, this is the only trauma center for Level I present of the East Coast Corridor between Philadelphia and Baltimore.

The highest level of ability, Neonatal intensive care unit of Level 3 is only present in the Christiana Hospital which is the only obstetric hospital in Delaware. According to the recordings, on annual basis about 7,200 babies are born in Christiana Hospital. Within the medical and dental staff of Christiana Hospital, there are more than 1,400 surgeons and physicians as active members. About one in every ten physicians and surgeons have contributed through their practices within the campus of Christiana Hospitals as two medical arts pavilion are situated adjacent to the main campus. The main campus also includes Christiana Hospital Cancer Center.

Christiana Hospital has also the Center for Heart and Vascular Health. This branch offers the latest technology in the cardiology, cardiac rehabilitation, preventive medicine and cardiovascular surgery. Also, the Health Center Cardiac and Vascular performs about 1000 open-heart surgical procedures on an annual basis. Adjacent to the Vascular Center is the John F. Medical Education Ammon. This center has 13 classrooms with 300-seater auditorium which is equipped with videoconferencing and audiovisual technology. It also has a 7,000 square feet medical library. Along with it, the centre also consists of a simulation lab tech for the doctors who permit the doctors and residents to train themselves in a realistic and stimulated hospital environment.

The research of Christiana Hospital is presented to the Research Center. The research center is the world-class research institution which has a dual mission. First is the epidemiological investigation and analysis of the results in the medicine field.
