Since, it has been observed that there has been an increase in the illicit and criminal activities across the globe, there has been a crucial need that there must be some effective and efficient means that focus on reducing them. The present research paper aims to critically analyze the methods and techniques of the two published papers that are related to the estimation of the criminal homicide offenses. Additionally, the differences and similarities of the two studies have also been incorporated in the research paper so that a firm understanding about the rate and estimation of the criminal homicide issue may be gained.

Introduction
During the day, it has been observed that one of the major challenges that the countries have to face is the alarming situation of crime and violence especially the gruesome and heinous activities related to homicide. Having said that, it may not be wrong to say that according to the recent reports, encouragingly, there has been an evident decrease in the crime rates in the region of United States however, the need to have an effective system that not only reduces but also completely eradicate the problem of homicide offenses.
This research paper aims to discuss the methodology of the two published studies to understand the pattern of formulating results in both of them. In addition to this, the differences and similarities in the approaches that have been employed in the two research papers for estimating the research results are also discussed in the paper. Furthermore, in the latter half of the research paper, the expected audience of the two articles have been discussed along with their effective role in determining the relation to the approaches used in the articles by the authors to reporting the homicide data collection and estimation results.
Brief Description of First Paper
The title of this research paper is “Systematic review and meta-analysis of homicide
recidivism and Schizophrenia” and the authors who got it published in the year 2014 were Andrei Golenkov, Olav Nielssen and Matthew Large. These authors, keeping consideration the burning issue of criminal homicide offenses, decided to work on a systematic critical analysis of the crime situation in the region. The prime purpose of this study was to estimate and present the proportion of the people that are termed as homicide recidivists among different population studies of the homicide offenders that suffer schizophrenia.
In this paper, a systematic and detailed meta-analysis of a number of different studies that are associated with homicide is done. In the paper, approach of meta-analysis with random effects was employed in order to have a firm understanding of the total proportion that was homicide recidivists.
