Home Visits by Teachers to Increase the Parental Involvement in Children Education
Introduction
The paper intends to identify the contribution of teachers visit at the student's home to encourage the parents in the education of their children. The study attempts to highlights the critical contribution of family into the child's achievement from the early childhood through high school. Hence, the partnership between the schools and families hold the great significance in shaping the entire life of the children. Moreover, the supportive home learning environment brings about the successful outcomes in child's education and becomes the foundation for the success in the school. The schools are putting more efforts in engaging the parents and families with the child learning process as they believe that the family makes critical contributions in to the achievements of children. Many schools have now introduced the system to send the teachers at the homes of the students and instilling the interest of parents in their children's education process.
Discussion
The parental and the family involvement in the education have always been considered as the integral to the success of the children academic performance. The empirical studies and the research evidences indicate the gains in the student achievement are possible with the involvement of parents in the child's educations (Henderson and Mapp, 2002). However, many schools arrange the parent teacher conferences and other activities to collaborate the parents with the educational processes of their children. The schools embrace the philosophy of parent teacher partnership to bring about the positive outcomes (Sanford, 2012).
