I believe that Home Depot has done an excellent job in achieving its goals over the past ten years. In doing so, they became the market leader, and they were also able to maintain its SG and while the costs down by eliminating unnecessary costs by distributing them among the shops in close proximity to each other.

Home Depot faces several challenges in order to continue achieving its objective (s) to become the global leader and expand their existing market. There are several companies that are established in direct competition with Home Depot such as Lowe's, their number one competitor, as well as other companies such as Eagle Hardware & Garden in Seattle, which was preparing for intense competition, Home Depot will bring them to a few years (Bauer 2003). They also face a problem when trying to expand its base in the category of business segment in which they spend only about 4% of the market.
