Basic Guiding Principles in Communicating Constructively with Parents
Parent-teacher communication requires mutual understanding, commitment and trust. It is necessary to understand the nuances and circumstances which involve effective communication with parents. One of the primary flaws in teacher-parent communication is that teachers focusing to talk, with little emphasis on listening skills. Communication must be made both ways (National PTA, 1997), in order to benefit from the involvement of parents.
