Introduction

HMI Prison UK refers to Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Prisons for United Kingdom, it is an independent inspectorate responsible for reporting conditions and treatment for people in prison, to provide immigration detention facilities, and to inspect young offender institutions. Its duties are mainly set out in section 5A of the Prison Act of 1952. HM inspectorate prisons is also involved in inspecting police custody jointly with HM Inspectorate of Constabulary and in 2012 it took on a responsibility of inspecting customs custody facility, court custody with HMIC, and secure training centres with ofsted (www.justice.gov.uk ).

The role of HMI Prison is to promote the concept of health prisons in which staff can work effective to support prisoners and detainees so that reoffending could be reduced and other mutual objectives could be achieved. Another important role is to provide independent security of condition for and treatment of intimates and other detainees. Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Prisons works with Ministry of Justice. In addition to the regular inspection of HMI prison, it also publishes reports in resettlement provision for young people focusing on training, education, and employment. In this paper I am going to conduct critical analysis of Her Majesty's Inspectorate Report from UK Prisons. The purpose of this paper is to let readers know about the effectiveness of Her Majesty's Inspectorate Report from UK Prisons.

Critical Analysis

Young Offender institutions are inspected by HMI Prison based in three yearly cycles. Every cycle includes inspections along with a follow up inspection which is proportionate to risk. All inspections of HMI prisons are carried out against published criteria called as Expectation. All expectation are referenced against and based on standards of international human rights. Inspection findings are brigaded under 4 tests of healthy prison. These four tests are: Safety, respect, purposeful activity, and resettlement. Every year, several inspections are carried out by Establishment holding young people and children. In their surveys, HMI prison interview young people in all YOIs to find about their custody experience. The responses of these surveys are complied in annual report. Current inspections showed that young males continued to be routinely strip searched. Moreover the violence related to gang was prevalent at Feltham; young individuals said that they felt unsafe at some point than the national average. In order to address this work, dedicated management behaviour group carried out an excellent work. In order to collect most accurate data some of its members formed constructive relationships with some of the most troublesome young individuals. However, the unexpected arrival of young individuals after august disturbances shifted this groups' focus away from disruptive gang members.
