The initial virus that leads towards AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) is Human Immunodeficiency virus. HIV belongs to the group of viruses recognized as retroviruses. These types of viruses have ability of copying RNA in to DNA. It is the virus that leads towards HIV infection. In this virus mainly attacked cells are CD4 (Kalichman 2006, p.11). These cells basic work is infection fighting and virus attacks to destroy body immune system. Deficiency and constant loss of CD4 cells makes hard for the human immune system to fight infections. The last stage of HIV is (Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) AIDS.
