Introduction

According to the present day statistics more than 1 million Americans are living with HIV, and this number is towards a growing trend. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, almost 31% of the affected population with HIV living nationwide is above the age of 50 years. In addition to this researchers have concluded that by the end of 2015 half of the HIV infected patients living in US will be over the age of 50 years (AOA, 2013).

The beginning of 21st century has marked the Health care organization in American to prevent the spread of HIV and prevent the older Americans from this deadly healthcare concern. Even today 17% of the HIV cases are diagnosed among the individuals who have already lived half of their life as a healthy individual till the age of 50 years. This clears the fact that it is important to increase the education and awareness level among the older Americans about the HIV prevention in the later stages of life (AOA, 2013). This is needs the help of aging network providers as well various other non-profit organizations to work on individual as well as community well. The need is to spread the health awareness and improvement message nationwide and communicate the message within the communities where the disease is prevalent.

On 13th July, 2013 National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS) was released by White House. This was the first ambitious plan for the promotion of nation's health and provided a comprehensive roadmap against the prevention of HIV/AIDS. The targets are to be achieved by the end of 2015 (AOA, 2013).

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is a part of United States Department of Health and Human Services. It is running as a federal agency for protecting the health and dealing with the healthcare concerns of the entire Americans living nationwide. CDC was founded in 1946 to help control the spread of malaria. CDC has always stepped forward and also works in collaboration with various other organizations to combine the preventive efforts against the spread of epidemic disease. It also works to control the infections and chronic disease, workplace injuries and hazards, preventable disabilities, environmental health and safety concerns.
