Essay: World War II as a Turning Point in 20th-Century

Introduction

World War II was one the greatest event that brought massive changes all love the world. Its consequences reshaped the political, social and economic conditions of the globe. At that time Europe had been the most powerful State that was ruling half of the world by its colonization. World War II changed the whole concept of power and rule and there were changes that made the Europe suffered most. The effects and aftermaths of this War were not only global but it affected every individual psychology and shattered their minds that gave them a new vision of thought. Europe faced not only that international war but after that it had to face domestic turmoil that destroyed social, political, economical and ethical conditions of the State. History of European power ended with the World War II and from there began new history of European movements, Struggle for rights, cold war, civil war, independence of various states from European colonization, emergence of new political powers of the globe, Cultural shifts and technological and other advancements that were witnessed by the people suffering from these events. World War II was a turning point in 20th-century that reshaped the European history in past fifty years.

Discussion

After World War II, major challenges that Europe faced at domestic level were the movements of civil rights that is combination of various other movements. Most prominent was struggle for the rights of freedom from the slavery, other important movement was for the women rights that again led to the beginning of various other movements like movement for the right to vote. This was another major change during World War II that made women came out from their homes and take the jobs as men were away for War. This made women realized their rights and they started struggling which resulted in the women activists movements. All these movements were a great threat for the stability of European political stability.

Apart from these movements and political changes another threat was the worst economical and social conditions of Europe. Due to overconsumption of States resources in the war, Europe had to reduce its expenses on the colonization so that leads to the end of colonization. Whole economical structure of Europe was destroyed and it was running mostly by the women. The industries and businesses were facing losses as people have no money to buy commodities. The State was not in the proper condition of facing all these problems. The problems of changes in the political structure and economical destruction also resulted in the social constraints. The rate of increase in crimes, rise of various political and labor parties, unions and other problems with the degraded social, moral and cultural norms were also a problem for the stability of European Power.
