Introduction

The education is very important aspect for the nations and in these demanding times nations do invest in their educational system. It is a fact that children are the next leader of the nation so they must be educated well. This report will focus on early education for children of Canada. The report will cover history of early education of children in Canada. The report will highlight the efforts made by several researchers and theorists such as William Blatz, Sigmund Freud, Erik Erkison, Lawrence Kohlberg, Howard Gardner, B.F. Skinner and Lev Vygotsky. The report will explain the motives and reasons behind formation of the early childhood education development. The report will highlight how a teaching profession is different than an ordinary occupation and job.

History of Early Childhood Education

The government of the Canada used to invest resources and funds for the sake of developing an effective education system for children. In 1945, Canadian government made amendments in the law and started providing allowances to the families who had dependent children. This support to early childhood education was further extended during the year of 1973 when the Canadian government tripled the family allowance so the children can get more support for educational activities.

There were number of events which has played significant role for the development of early childhood education system in Canada. For example, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development conducted a study in the many countries including Canada with the purpose of evaluating effectiveness and efficiency of early childhood education. The results of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development demonstrate that the early childhood education system of Canada was not effective and needs improvement in various aspects. It provided impetus to work extensively on the development of early childhood education of Canada. At that time, there were number of researchers who started working on early childhood education system of Canada. The main reasons behind these facts were the poverty and social issues. The professional conduct of the teachers is also very different than any other job because being a teacher the goal is not only to deliver the lecture to students but the teachers are supposed to work on student personality and personal grooming. The relationship of the teacher to student is different than the relationship of a customer and seller. The teacher is supposed to identify flaws in the student's personality and help them correct it.

On personal level, there should be more focus on commitment to quality. Individual should incorporate high quality practices in development programs of childhood education along with effective implementation and management of these programs.
