Some important events from the Time Line of Computer Processors
1934: A better and efficient calculating machine was intended to be developed by a scientist in Germany named Konrad Zuse. He seek to develop a calculating machine that could solve various problems and its better than the currently available calculating techniques. It is an important aspect in the development of current processor as it provided the basis for the building of something that could provide ease of calculation to the people.
1935: Two significant contributions in the evolution of modern processors. A popular technological company IBM introduced an electric typewriter and a 601 multiplying punch card machine. Both of the machines lead to the development of ideas regarding the use of processors.
1937: Some more significant contributions have been made including the development of binary circuit by George stibiz. The binary circuit was developed on the basis of Boolean algebra. Calude Shannon contributed by publishing the principles for developing an electric adder against the base two. A scientist, Howard Aiken submitted a proposal to the IBM for developing a digital calculating machine that could be able to perform four main operations of arithmetic and that could operate in a sequential and predetermined series. The engineering and computing concepts provided during these events have a strong impact on the modern processing systems.
1939: Development of the prototype of an electronic and digital computer by John Vincent Atanasoff. The digital electronic computer was able to perform binary arithmetic. It is one of the crucial stages in the development of digital machines.
1944: A computer was designed named Harvard Mark I that involved lesser level of programmability due to initial processor setup. The initial development of processor provided a basis for the development and up gradation of the processors used in computers.
1951: A business computer was developed named Lynos electronic office that used an upgraded processor. Another electronic discrete computer was developed that used the variable and automatic processor system. The up gradation of processors has significantly contributed to the development of modern processing systems.
1971: The evolution of microprocessors leads to the development micro computers. Intel introduced microprocessors and ted hoff of 4 bit 4004. The investing in the processor industry by Intel.
1972: Intel continuously evolved the microprocessors and created an 8080 microprocessor. The 8080 microprocessor is considered to be one of the crucial stages in the history of processors.
1974: The processor MC 6800 was developed by Motorola that was comparatively easier to implement as compared to the Intel 8080 processor. It is because the Motorola MC 6800 used only a single voltage and did not require a supported chip for its operation. It shows the emergence of competition in the market of processors and processing units.
1976: A significant evolution in the processors area brought about by the development of 16 bit microprocessor by Intel named TMS 9900.
1986: Intel produced a 32 but microprocessor of x86 named ...
