Marine Crimes and piracy has been a controversial issue for some time and had raised concerns as to how this issue could be resolved. Attacking of ships and making demand of huge ransom has made it a complicated matter. Countries like America, Britain and others have been working on strategies to combat against these foes that have become a constant threat to the countries. America has used its foreign policy as an important tool and asset to fight against these scourge enemies.

Foreign Policy is an essential element and tool for a country. It is that area of politics that bridges the gap between countries with the rest of the world. It appertains to decisions and activities that involve rapport between an independent country and other international countries in the political arena. America has always given significant importance to its foreign policy and has used it as an important tool to portray its intentions and interests to other countries and combat against unconventional and ruthless foes. United States has always been involved in combating against piracy through its foreign policy.

Pirates were and still are the biggest enemies who attack and loot the ships on the international water. 200 years back the newly established country, America, fought an oversea battle to protect the citizens through unconventional coalition against the foes. This shows that using foreign policies on international border and sea, America can combat against enemies who are threat to its integrity in any manner. At present the historically set tradition of paying ransom to avoid any conflict with the pirates has made these pirates habitual of demanding ransom. They use the medium of attacking ships and capturing the sailors and goods to make their demands fulfilled by the powerful and wealthy nations. Had the plan of Jefferson to fight against sea foes was encouraged in the infancy of American Independence, than privacy would never have had prevailed the way it has in the modern era. But the important aspect of piracy cannot be missed. Combating against piracy has led success in the foreign policy of America.
