The purpose of the study

The term hip-hop refers to a wealth of practices that include dress, dance, and public discourse, of which the most publicly prominent is rap music. Rap is a musical form that incorporates an individual or set of individuals chanting in a rhythmic fashion to a musical accompaniment. Since the 1980s and 1990s, this situation has changed so much that for many cultural studies theorists the experiences of youth of African descent have been at the forefront of theorization of youth culture through examination of hip hop and its most enduring child: rap music (Soysal, p. 62).

The Hip-Hop is considered one of the most important genres of modern music. Hip-hop is a lifestyle, while the other genres are only a means of expression. Literally, the rap is that way of singing; rapper's groove to the rhythms of rap. Hip-hop is a culture that emanates from its roots in the music of the 70s funk, and soul and even disco. One of the most popular genres of Rap, which os considered as one of the most accessible, is the Alternative hip-hop. There are no rules, no themes, a free and different standards from other genres. The purpose of this paper is to find out and evaluate the following of the hip hop music through a survey questionnaire among the students.

Methodology

A mixed method will be employed to gather general and then more specific information from participants and sources. The mixed method includes both the quantitative and qualitative research methods for gathering information. The qualitative and quantitative research methods will be used for this research study. Apart from qualitative and qualitative research methods, the secondary and primary research methods will be used for the data collection. Quantitative research method will be used in which questionnaire will be filled from the victims and the managers of online service providers such as banks, social networking and business web sites. The questions of the questionnaire will be open ended as well as close ended. There will also be some internet research to learn about the hip hop music and its popularity. The research will perform through famous online libraries.
