Analysis of Health Care Organizational Transformations

Introduction

There would not be any disagreement for the statement which says that health care is since the beginning of the human race. Everyone could have done something or the other in terms of their health matters. However, since the end of nineteenth, and beginning of the twentieth century we came to experience the emergence of Heath care organizations (Noah, 2007). Slowly and gradually they started to develop and now they are one of the most crucial institutions for any place. They equipped to serve us in the most reliable way as possible. However, it takes time for any organizational model to become perfect. Similarly, health care institutions are also facing transformation changes amongst their working style in order to promote a better work environment and create a learning organization. The concept of continuous improvement is highly realistic, and the work executed by the health care institutions is the example and supporters of the concept that teaches the importance of improving organizational practices.

Discussion

This paper will highlight two of the recent transformation changes amongst the health care organizations. Furthermore, it will cover the background of the problem, an in-depth analysis of the issue in regards to implementation, and what results did it provided. However, these transformation changes can be beneficial in the moment and may require more alteration in the future (Morgan, 2005).

Health Care Change

In the ever evolving world of medicine we even need advancement amongst the healthcare institutions in the most effective way. Currently there are new policies emerging in the health care environment by most of the western countries. Their focus is to acquire an effective way for delivering comprehensive, accessible and uninterrupted services (Helfat, 2007).

Case 1

The transformation change that took place in this case was the creation of leadership amongst the nurses who have been managing patients at a different level. It is a new learning phenomenon that recently took place in the health care organizations. Creating leadership amongst nurses has importance of its own and can serve strategically in various scenarios. However, there is a gap in knowledge about how nursing leadership organized even though a lot was done in other parts of the world. There is an apparent inconsistency in the style of leadership provided by nurse managers. This could probably be attributed to the reasons for entering nursing leadership.

The problem associated with lack of leadership in nurses was the initiation that nurses need to take during the emergency situations when there is no doctor. Other possibility, which create problem, was that there are patients and nurse are unable to attend the patient's problem. However, this transformation change involved different stakeholders; i.e. nurses, trainers and others. The concept of improving leadership skills came into practice since the early twenty first century; however, timeline for this case is the end of 2010 and earlier this year (Azaare & Gross, 2011).
