Overview of NABP

“National Association of Boards of Pharmacy” or NABP is an international venture which facilitates the “State Licensing Boards” to create, implement and impose some uniform principles regarding various activities of pharmacy. In 1904, the venture began in U.S. as for today it includes around fifty federal U.S. States besides, two Australian states and around nine Canadian provinces. This shows its largely spread network globally. The main focus of the association is to provide the state with maximum facilitation regarding licensing activity. It aims to make sure that every individual has an access to public health and safety tools. It does it via its pharmacist license which includes transfer and competence evaluation programs. Its members of the board of pharmacy survive within eight districts. It also has its influence in Australia and New Zealand. It has an executive committee who govern the association. In association's yearly meeting, the members decide on the selection of governing officers. NABP created “Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites or VIPPS” programs in 1999 which aimed to authorize and certify available online pharmacies. In 2004, it created “Verified Accredited Wholesale Distributors” or VAWD which aimed to certify the wholesale distributors and guard the common men form the projected threat of forged drugs.
