Introduction

Chronic diseases involve all the diseases that could be controlled for a longer period of time but could not be completely cured. There are various chronic diseases through which different individuals suffer. Cardiovascular diseases are included among the most significant of the chronic diseases. Cardiovascular diseases occur in a large number of individuals all over the world. In United States of America, the number of individuals who suffer from cardiovascular diseases have increased and there are several reasons of this increase in number of cardiovascular disease patients. Cardiovascular diseases could be harmful for individuals as it could also become the reason of an individual's death if not treated and managed effectively (Woods, 2005).

There are various effects of heart diseases which create a negative impact on the health of individuals. Some of these negative effects heart or cardiovascular diseases on an individual's health include rise and fall of blood pressure, dizziness, fatigue, chest pain, fatal heart attack, wheezing or consistent coughing, stress, swelling in feet and ankles, ineffective functioning of kidney and liver. These are some of the prominent effects of cardiovascular diseases on an individual's health but heart diseases could also cause an individual's death.

There are various determinants of heart diseases in individuals. These determinants are based on various aspects including social, economic, individual and environmental factors. It is very important to understand the social and environmental conditions in which an individual stay to understand the basic causes of cardiovascular diseases through which an individual suffers (Halliday, 2010). The situation under which an individual works, his income and resources could serve as the determinants of the disease from which he or she is suffering. The geographical location in which an individual stays, pressure of work, ethnicity, discrimination, unemployment or job instability and several other risk factors helps to determine the basic cause of an individual suffering from a cardiovascular disease.

In United States, there are a large number of individuals who suffer from cardiovascular diseases and they suffer from these diseases because of various reasons. These reasons could be one of the reasons from the above mentioned reasons. The target population for this prevention program of heart diseases in United States will be women who are suffering from heart diseases (Cademartiri, 2012). The age range of the target population will be from 40 years to 50 years old. It is important to treat and manage each and every individual suffering from heart diseases but women are selected as the target population because more complications arise in the case of women suffering from heart diseases.

Strategies for Prevention of Heart Diseases

As it is studied that heart diseases could be very harmful to individuals and could also become a reason for an individual's death. If we talk about women suffering from heart diseases, it is researched that heart diseases are the most significant reason which cause death in women.
