Introduction

Childhood obesity has turn into key health concern for all the Australian kids. Adding to it, the inadequate knowledge of the food habits of the area they have moved to, lead to food insecurities. These insecurities increase obesity risk among their children more likely. Rapid globalization has cast varied impacts on changing lifestyle patterns, and eating habits of the individuals. Eating habits are not merely the choice of individuals. Most of the time, it is our culture that influence our choice of diet (Nguyen-Duy TB & W Wong D, 2008, pp. 3-22). The increase in number of overweight children becoming obese adults can be an overburden on the economy, so it is essential to evaluate health programs so that the health situation can be improved.

Discussion

There is a rising toll of the evidences which suggests that the migrants in Australia face nutritional deficiencies on their Arrival to the industrialized country. According to an estimate some 13000 immigrants move to Australia from less developed regions or countries every year (Nguyen-Duy TB & W Wong D, 2008, pp. 3-22).

Usually, people migrate from developing regions to the developed countries(William, Emily & Harris, Neil, 2010, pp. 989-994). In less industrialized countries, people consume traditional food which is healthier than the high energy foods. The citizens of the industrialized countries are habitual of consuming high-density and high-fat foods. The migrants who come from these underdeveloped regions, when attain livelihood in such regions, face certain difficulties in terms of food habits. They have to abandon their healthy eating habits replacing them with non-healthy diet (Pedro et al, 2007, p.20). Secondly, if the host country has a deskbound life style the chances of obesity increases two fold. This factor acts as a supplied source of abnormal weight gain among the migrants (William, Emily & Harris, Neil, 2010, pp. 989-994).
