Both developed and underdeveloped countries are facing a number of health issues in today's world. It is important to observe that these issues are not only plaguing the poor but the western lifestyle which is typified by a very rich calorie diet, high in fats, animal proteins and refined sugars is creating an energy imbalance resulting in several serious diseases like obesity, cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular problems.

HIV Aids in United Kingdom and Turkey
In early 1980s, after the discovery of HIV AIDS in the United Kingdom, there was a constant raise in the number of individuals diagnosed with HIV Aids. It's been 30 years since the first HIV diagnosis in UK and by early 2012, approximately 115,000 infections have been diagnosed in the United Kingdom amongst which 20,000 have expired. Today, people diagnosed with HIV disease in the early stages can look forward to a normal life span as compared to the early decades of the worldwide plague when HIV Aids was incurable. In 2011, according to the Ministry of Health Turkey, the number of people infected with this deadly virus reached to 5,500. The facts and figures from the Ministry of Health reveal that the total number of Aids infected individuals in Turkey has exhibited a steady rise over the past 4 years. In 2010, it was 4,312, in 2009 3,898 and in 2008, 3,370. The statistics reveal that currently there are 5,224 HIV-infected people residing in Turkey, with males contributing a larger share of the number at 3,723. The highest HIV infection cases are found in the western Marmara region. Provincially, the utmost reported cases of HIV-infection are found in Istanbul. According to the data from the Ministry of Health, 16%of HIV-infected persons are foreign national patients, typically from Romania, Moldova and Ukraine, Moldova and Romania.
