Introduction

Government has taken various measures for the improvement in the life of Non-Indigenous Australians; there is betterment in their life expectancy and health conditions. Recent researches have shown that with the increase in health rate in the non-indigenous Australians there is increase in the morbidity and death rate of the Indigenous and Torres Strait Islanders. This is an alarming situation for the government, as the indigenous Austrians and Torres Strait Islanders are the major inhabitants of the Australia and they belong to one of the most ancient human race and are also very important for their cultural and historical background, these are the heritage of the Australia (Daly,Speedy, & Jackson, 2009 p.308) . There is special need that government should take precautionary measures for the betterment in the health and quality of their life.

Thesis Statement

Government need to provide facilities to improve health of Indigenous and Torres Strait Islanders.

Discussion

On the national level Australia has a better health condition as compare to various other States but when it comes to the Indigenous and Torres there is quite strange figure that their health rate is very low with high percentage of morbidity and death rate. It is also worth noticing that this has most of the infants and child mortality rate (Stainton, et. al, 2011). There are various reasons for it; most important are the unhygienic conditions, dirty water, high rate of poverty and no proper facilitation for health management from the government. These lead to the high morbidity and mortality rate (Wahlquist, 2011, p.39-44). There are various fatal disease like cancer, cardiovascular, respiratory and digestive disease and there is no proper arrangement for it which leads to their death. These Australians face difficulties for the availability of the various basic necessities like health and education. The rate of diseases is not only high in the adults but in the adults as well. There is need to be implemented into the government record so that there will be proper arrangements for it and all the important measures can be taken for it at the federal level( Ring and Brown, 2002).

Mortality Rate in Infants and children

Most of the deaths are reported as the child birth death, this involves death of infant and sometimes mother as well. There is also death due to improper management and lack of maternal care. In children there is also high rate of death due to lack of oral, dental, gastrointestinal and chest infections(Shi, & Singh, 2011 p.166).

Mortality Rate in Adults

Most of the reasons in adults are due to the circulatory, respiratory or cardiac diseases and cancer. In these diseases the treatment is quite expensive and most of these people are not able to afford these treatments. Another problem is with the proper diagnosis at proper time(Dudgeon, et. al, 2010, p.81-91).
