Restructuring in Health Care Organization

Restructuring in Health Care Organization

Introduction

The 21st century is dominated by medical concerns currently faced by people around the globe. The need for captivating an integrated view of health care system is increasing. Governments are taking innovative and efficient steps to improve the health standards of living beings. Several restructuring and reorganising strategies have been acquired by different countries to ensure the effective management of health care system. This report is also an upshot of managing the health care system in some regions by an organisation which is involved in the restructuring of its policies and administration. Ministry and authorities of health care are focusing on the restructuring and expansion of its operation followed by a governmental reform policy (McCutcheon D.1997, pp.34). Our main focus will remain on the restructuring of policies and procedure to provide a universal set of practices across the regions. The rationale of this formal report is to provide the ethical and behavioural conduct to be followed in the organisation; it also describes the functions of administration and how communication will take place in the premises of the organisation.

Role of Administration

Administration plays a significant role in the development of the organisation. An effective administration is an asset to an organisation. It provides a roadmap in the development and planning of the organisation as well as in the formulation of strategies that bind the overall functions of the organisation as an integrated framework. It helps in providing information to senior management. The role which administration plays with other departments is very clear and important. In view of health authorities, the administration tasks must be restructured to meet the upcoming challenges (Kasturi Sen, 2003, p.20). Previously the administration was divided into different regions and localities, and their functions were to implement the stated SOPs in their relevant functional areas.

Lake of coordination was the main problem in the earlier system of administration. The policies were not implemented or effective according to the desires of management. After the restructuring of the entire organisation the administration will become more vibrant and effective. The role of administration will be like a centralise force which binds all activities taking place across the medical health care facilities. It is important for the organisation to restructure the role of administration in order to keep the management functions (Planning, Organising, Leading and Controlling) according to the desired outputs. Role of each functional area is given below

Given the restructuring of organisations the administration will have following responsibilities

Developing centralized strategies, standards and policies.

Focal point of the administration activities will remain the objective of extending the health services and extending the governmental policies.

Organising, scheduling and forecasting the delivery of health service based on the population demand and guided by the strategically objective of the government.

Performing the role of the purchaser and contractor on behalf of the ministry of health to maintain the relationship with hospital pricing associations and other stakeholders.
