Learning Log 1

I was placed in a government owned health and social care center. During my time in the organization, I had several opportunities to interact with service users. The interaction with these service users has expanded the boundaries of my knowledge and helped me to explore some new dimensions of health and social care. I have learned that the environment and the learning we get in the classroom are completely different with that we get in healthcare institutions. The service user often comes up with queries that are never being told to us in the classroom. For instance, one of the patients was getting irritated to get medicated (injection), therefore, in such situation, the caregiver has to think out of the box, and adapt measures that not only persuade the patient but also solve the health related issue.

My experience allowed me to come to terms with the fact that all NHS hospitals have to consider the recommendations and build on its internal algorithms. As already mentioned, private clinics are not required to follow such instructions, but, nevertheless, many commercial establishments claim them as internal standards of "best practices" (Abraham, 2009, pp. 931-977). I now understand that perhaps, one can hardly find an argument that would more accurately described the professionalism. During my time in health and social care institution I have learned and I was told to show respect to the patients and the problems they are experiencing. I have witnessed some healthcare providers making fun of patients who are going through severe mental trauma. As a healthcare provider, we are trained and educated to respect our patients, and it is our prime responsibility to treat patients as human beings and diagnose and cure their disease with complete honesty and commitment.

Learning Log 2

The National Health Service (NHS) is the system of public health of the UK. This organization provides the bulk of care from primary care to emergency rooms of hospitals, long term care to dental care. It was founded in 1948 and became an integral part of society and British culture as to be described by a former Minister of Economy, Nigel Lawson, as the "national religion. I have learned that the official agencies responsible for delivering health care are grouped within the National Health Service (NHS) under the Ministry of Health and include health centers and public hospitals. The citizens also benefit the NHS as part of Community legislation in force (Boorman, 2010, pp. 4-7). Thus, one should bring the European social insurance card to gain access to health care before getting your card of Service user.

Learning Log 3

I am now of the opinion that outdated individuals prefer group treatment over medical centers and lengthy lasting treatment options because it is easy and convenient. I personally feel that Group treatment is more effective than individual treatment. However, the implementation of such method is often confused because of the cost-effectiveness and time with the effectiveness of the treatment itself.
