Q1(a). What cultural considerations are important for you to remember while you interview Ms. Li?

Ethnicity: Asian American

When it comes to interviewing Ms. Li it is important to understand that her ethnicity is Asian American which obviously means that there are bound to be differences when it comes to the kind of cultural conditioning that Ms. Li has had and the kind of norms that she has lived with all her life and the type of culture that USA as a country has. It should be noted that Asians are conservative by all means, be it male or female, and hence the patient should first be asked whether they are comfortable with a male health practitioner or a female health practitioner. Considering the fact that the patient is 20 years old which is young there is bound to be a high level of hesitance and high level of resistance. There is also going to be communication barrier amidst the health practitioner and Ms. Li and the health practitioner needs to ensure that the he or she uses his or her words wisely. These aspects should be taken care of considering the fact that it is only after knowing the degree of cultural sensitivity that Ms. Li has, that the health practitioner will be able to deal with Ms. Li in an effective and efficient manner.

Q1(b). What is the Abuse Assessment screen?

Abuse Assessment screen is said to be aimed in detecting abuse in women who are pregnant. Upon detection of abuse the women are then referred to a counselor and at the same time a documentation of the abuse is also made when it comes to the medical records.
