Basically there are 8 essential components of the national curriculum which help the students in acquiring the necessary understanding and knowledge, values, skills and attitudes defined in the curriculum document of all the learning areas and these learning areas are: Physical Education, The Languages, Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, Technical Studies, Social and Personal Education, The Arts (House of Commons, 2009).
