Health Administration

Abstract

This research paper focuses on the Health administration. Health reforms play vital role bringing needed changes in existing healthcare regulations in order to improve healthcare services provided to citizens. Health Reform has introduced many new models of care that are based in large part on paying for performance. This research paper will bring to light core issues which are discussed and analyzed these new models of care, and present contrast against our former system of delivery and their respective incentives of quantity vs. quality.

Health Administration

Introduction

This research papers focuses on Health administration and many new models of care surrounding the health reforms. The reforms through which government initiates, changes or discusses policies regarding healthcare of a country/society are known as Health Reforms. Health reforms are initiated with an objective of increasing the availability and accessibility of healthcare services to the citizens of any state. First, the research paper will shed light on background of health reforms and current status of models of care under these reforms, then, issues will be analyzed highlighting contrast with former system of delivery. Finally, analysis will be presented, for their respective incentives of quantity vs. quality.

Background

The future of primary health care holds many challenges: for example, the aging of the population and the increase in chronic diseases cause e.g. one increased demand for medical services (home) and care-necessitation of an increasingly built-in health care. At the same time, we can fear for the future shortage of practitioners, at least in the two main groups of health professionals in primary care (family physicians and nurses). So changes are needed in the field of primary healthcare. The use of new models of care surrounding health reforms is one possible approach. These would establish a primary healthcare of high quality, based on the interest of patient and at the same time economical. With approximately 20% of chronically ill and / or serious cause nearly 80% of the costs, it is possible to gain quality and efficiency by improving the management of these patients, and also by improving rant prevention. However, new models of care should not be limited to this patient population but provide comprehensive care (Transformer, 2012).

Discussion and Analysis

New models of care based in large part on paying for performance

New models of care are characterized by an integrated approach to the beneficial of the patient, and their adaptation needs. For a successful management inter- grated, we must improve collaboration between occupational categories and optimize distribution of tasks and responsibilities in the new models of care. This is promising to close all trades since it allows to coordinate optimal business areas and to benefit from the knowledge of other professionals. While optimizing the use of resources, it would also improve the attractiveness of these trades. New models of care are attractive to health professionals for practicing and future working conditions must be adapted to our time (e.g. possibility of paid work, part-time team). Finally, new organizations care must commit to take over the basic training and ...
