In this study we try to explore the concept of “healthcare” in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on “healthcare” and the impact of different “health and wellness programs” on the overall healthcare industry. The research also analyzes many aspects of “healthcare in the United States” and tries to gauge the significance of “health insurance”. Finally the research describes “the expenditures on different health and wellness programs” along with the negative impact of “abundant healthcare expenditure” on “the healthcare industry”.

Introduction
This paper is aimed to explore the contemporary dimensions of health and wellness; in addition, the study focuses on the health insurance structure and its impact on the healthcare industry. This paper enlightens the improvement in health and wellness programs along with the advancement in healthcare insurance industry in order to gauge its impact on the expensive structure of healthcare in the United States. The health care system of the United States is represented by independent services at three main levels, a family medicine, hospital care and public health. Medical services in the U.S. are private individuals and legal entities. Various commercial, charitable and government organizations offer patients both outpatient and inpatient services. About 47% of all U.S. health care costs are the costs of hospital care, about 2% - home care, 10% - medication and 10% - for the maintenance of nursing homes. The remaining 11% cover services of dentists, ophthalmologists and other specialists (Mercedes, 2010).
American healthcare is considered as one of the most costly healthcare sector that provides healthcare services to the citizens of United States. The purpose of this paper is to enlighten the basic services provided by the healthcare system of United States. This paper explores and compares healthcare system of United States with other industrialized countries (Mercedes, 2010). This paper also discusses the cost of the healthcare services provided in United States of America and how they can be made affordable to individuals of the society. Finally, this paper enlightens the evolution and reform of the private healthcare insurance and its effect on the cost and quality of the healthcare services in United States.

The healthcare sector is facing several problems that need to be addressed. An effective healthcare system constitutes several basic services that provide a cost-effective treatment, and resolve the health related problems for residents. In addition, the efficient healthcare system must formulate diverse strategies to prevent the diseases and improve health behavior. The industry must focus on the participation of families and communities in several health and wellness programs in order to counter several factors that hinder the advancement of healthcare:
Maternal and child care and family planning.
Proper nutrition.
Control of infectious diseases and basic vaccinations.
Environmental sanitation.
Prevention and treatment of endemic diseases.
Emergency and curative services.
Provision of essential drugs.
Registration and Medical Statistics.
Some programs have been developed in support of basic health care services such as:
