Hazardous Waste Policy of Illinois

The hazardous waste policy of the state of Illinois is a state implementation of the portions of Federal resource conservation and the recovery act (RCRA, 1976). This act came in to being in the year 1976; it consists of amendments regarding the disposal of the solid waste which was mentioned in the act of (Solid disposal act, 1956). These regulations which were implemented by the RCRA became active in the year 1980, and some revisions were also added to this act one of them is known as the Hazardous and the solid waste amendments, this amendment was made in the year 1984, after which more information was made available regarding the types and amounts of the waste generated by the people living inside Illinois. The main purpose of this program is to provide an efficient mechanism for the management of hazardous waste that is generated by the people living inside the state of Illinois, alone with making sure that these policies are not mismanaged as a mismanagement of such policies would hugely impact the environment alone with the health of the people living inside the state. EPA (Environmental protection agency), the bureau of the land permit section is the groups responsible for the implementation of programs regarding the management of hazardous waste (Judicial influence on dumping of hazardous waste materials, 2012).

Environmental Justice (EJ) Policy of Illinois

The Illinois EPA is responsible for the protection of the environment and the health of the citizens living inside the state of Illinois, alone with the promotion of environmental equity as it is a major part of its administration program to protect the environment and health of the state practically and leally. Its main aim is to provide the citizens of employees with environmental equity (Michael, 2001).

The policy of environmental justice is mainly based on the principle in which all the people are required to be protected from the environmental pollution, as it is the right of every individual to live a healthy life in a clean environment.
