In this scenario, the health care organizations have to face several challenges in keeping and retrieving the records of their patients. In this situation new technologies and scientific ways play a vital role in the ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability of patient's records (Gasch & Gasch, 2010).

In the current era, EMR plays a vital role in keeping all the information regarding the patient's history. EMR is an abbreviation of electronic medical record. Electronic medical record is referred as the computerized and automated medical record which is specially designed for the health care organizations like, physician's office or hospitals. Electronic medical record (EMR) is an efficient technique which allows the health care organizations to modify, retrieve or store the records of the patients (Gasch & Gasch, 2010).

The solutions of electronic medical records (EMR), helps the health care organizations, including hospitals and clinics, enhance the accessibility of patient's information by enhancing the automation of an organization (Gasch & Gasch, 2010). EMR (electronic medical record) is referred as a digital and enhanced version of a paper chart that incorporates the complete medical history of the patient. The technology of EMR is usually used by the providers for treatment and diagnosis (Gasch & Gasch, 2010).

The use of EMR helps the health care organizations in reducing and eliminating the human errors while minimizing the administrative cost of the organization. This may result in the form of enhanced, and improve quality of health care. It is a fact that, electronic medical record (EMR), allows the health care organizations to provide good quality of health care facilities along with reduced costs. The technology of EMR allows the hospitals and clinics to access the up-to-date and complete history of the patients, which ultimately helps them in providing the quality of care to their patients (Skolnik, 2011).
