GSHP SYSTEMS

Ground-Source Heat Pump Systems

[Institution Name]Summary

The world understands the importance of energy efficient systems, when they consider the life of earth with the impact of greenhouse gases on it. There are many heat exchanger systems available in the world that may affect the emission of GHG and perform a very important role in reduction of such disastrous gases. GSHP system is also one of such heat exchanger system that is considered as the most efficient and effective heat exchanger systems in the world. It also satisfies the conditions of clean source. In this dissertation our major focus is on this system with the study of other systems and also discussing the factors and calculations when designing an effective heat exchanger system.

To develop an effective and efficient model of heat exchanger systems, many scientist contribute their experiences which is also discussed in this dissertation. The most effective model which we think is the model of Piechowski present in 1999. The calculations, measurement, assumptions and method to implement such model are also present in this dissertation. This model is very important when we understand the basic working and calculations needed to design an effective and efficient heat exchanger system. The model of Piechowski is very similar to the working of GSHP system, that's why it is used to drive results for GSHP system effectiveness.

Ground-Source Heat Pump Systems

Introduction

The change in climate is a real and latest threat for future of world. The major cause of such climatic changes is the use of fuel (fossil fuels) to generate power. The latest renewable energy such as energy generate by using solar power is the only solution to counter the effect of global warming. If every person uses this renewable technology to power their homes and to fulfill their energy needs on personal contribution basis then it is very easy to tackle issues like global warming and it also affects their fuel bills. Instead of low difference between the energy present in hot water and energy present in cold water, human being feels hot water very hot when they sense it, as compared to coldness of cold water, because they are warm-blooded. According to scientists, there is 11% less energy in cold water as compared to hot water, but since human beings are warm-blooded they feel it hotter. Ground-source heat pumps allow clean and new technique to heat buildings. They actually use renewable energy to perform task of heating. That's why they are very suitable for projects that are considered as environment friendly projects. They can be installed anywhere.

GSHP uses shallow trenches or borehole to provide heating. Sometimes GSHP is implemented by getting heat from lake. To perform heating closed loop of pipes is used in which water with small quantity ...
