Introduction

Group psychotherapy is a particular kind of psychiatric therapy in which a group of people with similar psychological issues gathers under the leadership of a proficiently skilled therapist so as to seek guidance and support for emerging from an issue they are facing. This idea of this therapy dates back to a period of 50 years, and it has been used widely as a tool by the therapists to help people come out of their problems as a standard treating option. This process is no different from the normal day routine of people. The way an individual socialize with people in his surroundings and becomes a part of a particular social group which possess common interests and likes, similarly in group psychotherapy, a number of individuals meet up and form a group led by a professional therapist to help them overcome their common issues or problems.

At times, these problems can be depression due to pressure at work, some racial issues, family troubles or a group of school children subjected to bullying of peers. Whatever the case are, the therapy provides an individual the ample opportunity to meet alike people or and understand their concerns. This also helps people to emerge from their own problems in a positive manner.

Helping people understand their own issues the therapy also supports people on the individual level to improve their interpersonal communications skills. It does not only address the aloof feelings of a person in fact it also helps them emerge from any depressions, anxieties. These groups can be helpful on schools and business levels.

In this paper, we aim to discuss the psychotherapeutic treatments for in patients going through acute problems. The problems and the practicalities in establishing inpatient groups will be focused in view of the models for group therapy.

Group therapy is a kind of psychotherapy that engages therapists or a team of these therapists to who work with a group of people simultaneously. These therapy procedures are available in a wide variety of places which include hospitals, mental health clinics and personal therapeutic practicing places. Group therapy can also be provided on an individual level mainly it is provided in a group or community of people.
