Task 1: Description of Personal and Professional Background

“Low aim is the crime, so we should have high aims in our life”

These words of Emerson truly reflect how a passionate person should live his or her life. Life is not a bed of roses. It presents many challenges to us, but the winner is one who faces these challenges, and proves himself as a remarkable individual. I strongly believe in this statement which has made me ambitious in attaining my goals and aims as well as overcoming the challenges. My name is XYZ and ma age is xx. I am a very outgoing and friendly person. I love socializing with different individuals as I learn and attain a lot of knowledge through merely talking with people. I am strong, courageous and love to accept challenges. I possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. I am also a fast learner, self motivated and am able to grasp the concepts and strategies quite easily. I am determinate, passionate about helping others, caring and loving, above all I am very friendly and can easily break the ice and make friends with all kinds of people. Helping others have always made me feel happy. I have always felt that by helping a person in need, you create a special bond with them.

After completing my high school, I opted for a one year Diploma in Sales and Management 2005-2006. I did my O'levels in English, Maltese and Math. As a child, I was always interested in cars. Cars are my passion. I used to collect small toy cars, posters of different cars etc. Cars fascinated me and started researching and learning about cars from a young age. This passion for cars led me to work for car companies. I used to work in a family company selling new commercial vans and various brands of cars. The main work was importing cars from China (From Beijing) and importing second hand cars from UK and selling them in Malta. Currently I am a Brand Manager in a company selling 3 different types of car brands. My main task is managing the staff, making follow ups, Reports, taking orders of cars, managing contracts, Bills of exchange, conducting meetings, managing and fulfilling targets. Apart from cars, I love music and traveling. I have travelled nearly all part of Asia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines, Japan and Malaysia.

As a strategic learner, I have evaluated through self assessment and SWOT analysis that I am very good regarding self-awareness. I am sensitive and open to others who are different. My self-awareness has increased after various group activities. I always approach other people first and introduce myself and easily make them at ease with myself. My colleagues and acquaintance have always found it easy to approach me and ask my help whenever they want to. I believe that constant self assessment is necessary for self improvement.
