Current and Future Learning Challenges

Through the development of the technology age and revolution of IT, the global environment has made little regarding the development of education. The innovations that have been utilized are limited to word processors and web search to access libraries on the internet. Web literate teachers provide advice and submit documents online but that is the most use of modern IT (Kelly, 2003). The challenges faced by visionary administrators include concerns about technology, adequate funding, standardized tests with achievement, and selection of effective instruction materials (Nicholson, 2012).

Importance of System Thinking in Education and Learning

A system is described as a collection of elements that process as a single body to accomplish a general purpose. In order to comprehend the importance of system thinking, seven principles need to be defined. Each principle is briefly explained in the statements discussed below (Betts, 1992).

Create a co-evolving system linked between teachers and students to improve their co-existing relationship and communication.

Maintain attention to the group process during teaching while addressing people's need to ensure their participation.

Become observers of the learning process while gaining knowledge through teaching and observations.

Moving between contexts can cause confusion but with a guiding teacher and an effective approach of system learning, people are able to recognize the new connections within the context.

Playfulness and humour have dual roles. First they create an atmosphere where everyone is in the same boat and facing similar challenges. Second is to paradoxically modify the context to create a particular challenge seem easier.

In distinction and connectedness, teachers try to illustrate a difference between the situation while at the same moment, establish a connection. The idea is to develop system thought through each person's mind of a difference and its connection.

The power of a question helps obtain feedback regarding the training. Questions allow teachers to understand what students are thinking while questions help students achieve learning in ideas they are finding confusing.

The collaboration of all the principles illustrates the value of system thinking in teaching and training (Campbell et al., 2011).
